We are pleased to announce that the 2nd International Early-Career Researcher Conference in Hospitality and Tourism (IECR) will be hosted between May 9 to May 11, 2025. We would love to see you in Macau University of Science and Technology, Macau SAR, China. We now warmly invite scholars in the field of hospitality and tourism management to actively submit papers to this conference.
The IECR2025 conference provide a platform for postgraduate students and early-career researchers to expand their research, network with the excellent scholars, and disseminate knowledge addressing the developmental opportunities and challenges in the global hospitality and tourism management. Whether you are a student, an academic, or a practitioner, this conference offers you a unique opportunity to interact with hundreds of colleagues from around the world.
We welcome both conceptual and empirical studies, including quantitative and qualitative research, with 1) abstracts of 300 to 500 words or 2) extended abstracts of 1500 to 3000 words. Submissions in English or Chinese are both acceptable. Please submit abstracts to the submission system at https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/IECR2025 before 10 April 2025. The field of Hospitality management mainly convers the following areas: hotel and lodging management, food and beverage management, service management, human resources management in the hospitality industry, financial management and cost control for hospitality organizations, ethical concerns in marketing and management, and sustainable practices within the hospitality industry. Tourism management mainly covers the following areas: marketing strategy in tourism industry, digital transformations in tourism, smart tourism, tourism and economy, entrepreneurship and innovation in tourism, destination marketing and management, new business models in tourism, sustainable and responsible tourism, climate change impacts on tourism, and tourism politics and crisis management.

Prof. Michael Hall
Michael Hall is a Professor in the Department of Management, Marketing and Tourism at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand; Visiting Professor and Docent in Geography at the University of Oulu, Finland; Visiting Professor at Linnaeus University, Kalmar, Sweden, and Lund University, Campus Helsingborg, Sweden; Adjunct Professor, Taylor's University, Malaysia and a Research Fellow at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Co-editor of Current Issues in Tourism and Field Editor of Frontiers of Sustainable Tourism and a member of the editorial board of various tourism, business, sustainability, and conservation journals, he has published widely in tourism, regional development, global environmental change, sustainability, and food studies.
Prof. Li Miao
Dr. Li Miao is a Professor and Head of Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, Faculty of Business Administration at University of Macau. She is also a Professorial Fellow of the University of Macau Development Foundation. Professor Miao is a distinguished scholar in the field of hospitality and tourism management, with extensive experience in teaching, research, and industry practice spanning multiple countries. She has won multiple research and teaching awards. She is on the 2023 world's top 2% scientists list (developed by a research team at Stanford University based on Elsevier Data Repository) in the subject area of Sport, Leisure & Tourism. Professor Miao is an Executive Editor of the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research. Her research interests include hospitality and tourism experiences, the intersection among culture, technology, and experience, and emerging travel and tourism behaviors.
Prof. Ben K. GOH
Prof. Goh has over 30 years of teaching and research experience in hospitality and tourism management discipline, he started teaching at Texas Tech University since 1989, and got his doctorate degree at Nova Southeastern University in the U.S. Prof. Goh was appointed to several administrative roles during his career at both Texas Tech University and Oklahoma State University. He served as Associate Dean in the College of Human Sciences and Director of School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Oklahoma State University.
Prof. Goh has served as reviewer for various hospitality research journals and has participated in research of the industry and consulted with numerous companies through U.S. and Asia. He has maintained close contact with industry professionals and has served as Board Member of Oklahoma Hotel and Lodging Association, Oklahoma Restaurant Association and is one of the founding board members of the Hospitality Educator Association of Texas. Prof. Goh has been honored with many awards including the Fulbright Scholar award in recognition of his achievements.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. Two types of submissions are accepted:
-
Abstract (300-500 words including References section)
-
Extended abstract (1500-3000 words including References section)
The abstract should be submitted to the submission system at https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/IECR2025 before 10 April 2025.
2. Best paper awards will be competitively selected by the Review Committee after assessing extended abstract (1500-3000 words) submitted.
3. Please clearly indicate authors information (name, affiliation, and contact email) in a separate page. That is, page 1 includes author information, and page 2 includes title, abstract, and keywords.
4. Papers will be accepted either in English or Chinese.
5. For each submission, please ensure that at least one of the authors is a graduate student or an early career researcher (less than six years of working experience), regardless of the order of authorship.

Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) is established in 2000 and has become one of the most competitive universities among all the young universities in the world. It currently has more than 20,000 full-time students. Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management is one of the largest and fastest growing faculties in the world. There are more than 50 faculty members from different nationalities in our faculty.
